- Apps that gamify everything โ points, badges and leaderboards can undermine intrinsic motivation over time. The research on gamification in education is more mixed than the industry acknowledges.
The honest bottom line
The best educational apps are those your child actually uses, that cover what they actually need to know, and that leave them better equipped than before rather than simply entertained.
